A private file converter that never uploads your files
Most converters upload your file to a server. hushvert runs the conversion inside your browser, so for images, HEIC, audio, video and PDF operations the file never leaves your device. No account, no cookies, and a claim you can verify yourself.

How you know it is actually private
Any site can write "we respect your privacy". A converter that runs in your browser can prove it: open developer tools, watch the Network tab while you convert, and see that no request carries your file; or convert with your Wi-Fi switched off and watch it work anyway. We explain the full picture, including which converters upload your files and why, in Are online file converters safe? and show the live proof on the privacy proof page.
The honest exception
A few conversions a browser genuinely cannot do, office documents to PDF, PDF to Word, and large video, run on our server. We never pretend otherwise: those uploads are encrypted, labeled as server conversions before you start, and the file is deleted within about an hour. Everything a browser can handle stays in your browser, unlimited and free.
Common questions
- What is a private file converter?
- One that converts your file without uploading it. hushvert runs the conversion in your browser using WebAssembly, so the file stays on your device for every conversion a browser can do. There is no server holding your file, and you can confirm it in the network tab.
- Do I need an account or to accept cookies?
- No. The in-browser converters need no account, no sign-up, and set no cookies. Drop a file, convert, download.
- How do I know my file is not being uploaded?
- Open your browser developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and convert: you will see no request carrying your file. Or load the page, turn on airplane mode, and convert with no connection. If it works offline, nothing is being uploaded.
- What about Word, Excel, PowerPoint or large video?
- A browser cannot run those conversions, so they use hushvert's server: the upload is encrypted, it is labeled as a server conversion before you start, and the file is deleted within about an hour. Everything a browser can do stays in your browser.
